Accessibility
The Disseny Hub Barcelona works constantly to be a centre that is open, accessible and functional for all, in line with criteria for universal accessibility. Pursuant to its commitment to people with functional diversity, the museum offers a visit to its facilities with maximum guarantees as regards mobility and access to information.
In this regard, action taken by the Disseny Hub Barcelona, in close cooperation with the Municipal Institute for People with Disabilities, falls within the framework of the work jointly undertaken by this institute and Barcelona Institute of Culture. It is the aim of these organisations to guarantee universal accessibility to the city’s cultural heritage, as established in Article 30 of the United Nations International Convention on the rights of persons with functional diversity.
Guidance elements
People with visual functional diversity
At the main door in Plaça de les Glòries and the entrance in Carrer Àvila, people with visual functional diversity will find a guidance system which will help them locate the information and service desks.
On floor 0, entering from Carrer Àvila, the guidance system leads to the tactile model that reproduces the building and its surroundings, together with a wall-mounted directory in Braille and large print with information about the museum floors with permanent exhibitions.
Information and service desks
People with visual functional diversity
The programme handout in Braille and large print may be consulted at the two information and service desks in the entrance lobbies at Plaça de les Glòries and Carrer d’Àvila. People with auditory functional diversity
The two information and service desks are equipped with a hearing loop to assist anyone who may need it.

The information and service desks have an area adapted for easy access by wheelchair users. Horizontal and vertical mobility is guaranteed throughout the building. Two wheelchairs are also available for loan on request at the Disseny Hub Barcelona.
