#DISSENY_BARCELONA. Design in the city
This area of the exhibition encourages visitors to explore the city, focusing on the design values of objects in our everyday urban environment. Elements that furnish our city provide essential services for its daily running and help to broaden the range of uses available in public spaces. But dependent on their design are not just certain services but also our capacity to make the city a more local and accessible environment, as well as a beautiful and stimulating one.
The proposed visit enables visitors to see, touch and use the objects as well as compare a design's features, virtues or problems under real conditions of use. The very thing that urban facilities typify is their exposure to the very severe weather conditions and intensity of use. We suggest you turn your attention, as you start this exploration, to the urban environments nearest to the Museum, the adjacent streets and squares.
