Conceptual transgressions

Turning a thought, feeling or concept into material is the goal of creation in the visual arts. Artists use their hands to construct an entire symbolic world that draws our attention to a variety of issues, often uncomfortable, such as gender roles or immigration, sometimes reformulating concepts through satire or humour. Their work conveys a message that calls on us to reflect and react to reality.
