The generalisation of personal hygiene and the pharmaceutical industry’s progress favoured the production and consumption of a series of products designed to alleviate those little everyday health problems for young and old, which then became very popular. Laxatives, restoratives, mineral water and the renowned lithinés (lithium salts) to be dissolved in a glass of tap water, cough sweets, toothpastes for a film-star smile and plasters against temporary pain, were all announced with eloquent images and captivating slogans, for personal and family well-being.
