Public (II)

The monumental, seemingly sentient objects invite us to attract their gaze through our own movement. The objects react collectively, deftly turning towards or shying away from us in synchrony to create a kind of dialogue that continually alters the spatial domain. The monolithic form, the architectural scale, the colour and the automated behaviour of the objects contrast with the soft fluidity of the fabric and the reminiscently anthropomorphic gestures, posing the question: do we crave the attention of the machine or vice versa?

Random International is a postdigital art group founded in London, that explores the human condition in a technological world. They want to focus on what it means to be human in a world dominated by the digital environment.
