Enjoia't Awards- CON-X-IÓ
Between May and July of this year, the A-FAD (Association of Artists and Craftspeople – Barcelona) held a call for entries designed to bring out new proposals on what the jewellery of our time should look like, proposals that were subsequently selected by a jury of experts in the field. The best ones are on display at the Enjoia’t Awards - CON-X-IÓ exhibition, which will be held at DHub from 19 September to 3 December.
These are the Enjoia’t 2024 Contemporary Jewellery Awards, a call for entries from all over the world, which, in its 28th edition, honours the most outstanding contemporary creations in the jewellery sector. The event is thus a meeting point for students and professionals from all over the world dedicated to the sector.
In this edition, however, the emphasis has been placed on the most appropriate jewellery for the moment we are living in. This is why not only are the proposed designs related to traceability of the materials used, sustainability and recycling, but also proposals with a conceptual basis that are inspired by the philosopher Donna Haraway and the ‘multi-species’ network she talks about.
This is a sign that our times are passing through the introduction of post-human and post-anthropocentric perspectives, both in our creations and in the relationship we maintain with the environment and the beings that inhabit it.
What would jewellery look like if, in addition to all this, we base the design on reuse, the creation of biomaterials and the re-signification of items? You’ll be able to see this at the DHub until December in an exhibition that will make you want to decorate your body with creations that are not only aesthetically modern, but which have been created with our times in mind.
