Inspired in Barcelona: Terra Rossa

Temporary
-

Group exhibition inspired by the use of clay as a primordial and universal element for the creation of the first design artefacts, especially common in the Mediterranean region. Curated by Júlia Esqué with a concept by Apartamento Studios, the centrepiece of the installation is a monumental pyramid with 80 càntirs (pitchers) made by 16 creatives.

The artistic ‘alterations’ have been carried out in collaboration with the ceramist Eloi Bonadona. Half of the artists, Jaume Ramírez, Lolo and Sosaku, OWL Furniture and Objects, Helena Fradera, Klas Ernflo, Claudia Valsells and Robbie Whitehead, worked on their càntirs in their raw state, before firing. The other half, Mark Bohle, Gina Berenguer, Laura Brichs, Luna Paiva, Pepa Reverter, Albert Riera Galceran, Xavier Mañosa and About Arianne, intervened on the surface of the càntir, without altering its original structure.

The exhibition was presented in April at the Fuorisalone of Milan Design Week.
