The magic curve: beech and rattan furniture
At the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century, curved wooden furniture enjoyed wide social acceptance throughout Europe, including Catalonia, where furniture was imported or made by national manufacturers, some of whom were based in Valencia.
Nowadays, in the 21st century, it is furniture made from rattan that is gaining popularity in homes and public spaces. This exhibition offers a look at a variety of pieces from the Museum's collection and considers the ductile properties of their materials.
