Outumuro LOOKS. Twenty Years Photographing Fashion

From the 22nd of January until the 23rd of May, 2010, the Museu del Disseny de Barcelona (formerly the DHUB-Disseny Hub Barcelona) presents Outumuro LOOKS. Twenty Years Photographing Fashion. The exhibition brings together for the first time the testimony to two decades of work (1990-2010) by an exceptional professional: fashion photographer Manuel Outumuro. A valuable legacy of photographs taken for various publications - fashion magazines, newspapers, and Sunday supplements, among others -, organizations, agencies, and designers, that portray the context, the characters and the designs of recent decades in the world of fashion.

The archive of the Galician photographer based in Barcelona, Outumuro (1949, A Merca, Ourense) provides a unique visual memory. With this retrospective, the museum opens the fashion photography collection at the Museu Tèxtil i d’Indumentària. A documentation that was born with the objective to acredit one of the systems and languages of representation in fashion: Photography.
