The best combination for the Night of Museums 2018

Can you imagine seeing the Museu del Disseny collections until one o’clock in the morning? And be amazed by a theatrical performance on the escalators? Once again we join the more than 4,000 museums around the world which are opening their doors on one of our favourite nights of the year: the Night of Museums!

This celebration was started in 1977 in order to raise awareness about the role played by museums in the development of society. And this year, the day will be more special than ever: the Night of Museums comes just one day after the International Museum Day, and coincides with the European Year of Cultural Heritage.

From 7 pm until 1 am you can visit our permanent exhibitions for free:

• From the world to the museum.  Product design, cultural heritage
• Extraordinary! Collections of decorative and author-centred art (3rd-20th Century)
• Dressing the body. Silhouettes and fashion (1550-2015)

But the Night of Museums is much more than just exhibitions: from 8.00 pm in the evening and every hour until 1.00 am, we have prepared, in collaboration with Nau Ivanov, the participatory theatrical event, Disseny Hug (design for an embrace), by Hui Basa - Lali Álvarez and Pau Matas with Gary Shochat and Clara Garcés.
