The DHub celebrates its 10th anniversary with an open weekend on December 14 and 15

The Disseny Hub Barcelona (DHub) commemorates its 10th anniversary this December. The facility, which in this decade of life has established itself as the nerve center of design and creative industries in the city, will celebrate it with a very special weekend in which it opens to the public.

On Saturday, December 14 and Sunday, December 15, there will be open doors to the DHub and everyone who wishes will be able to visit for free all the exhibitions that can currently be seen in the facility: 3 permanent exhibitions (Common objects. Local stories, global discussions; Dressing the Body. Silhouettes and fashion (1550-2015); Do you Work or Design? New Visual Communication. 1980-2003) and 4 temporary exhibitions (The ocean speaks. New ecologies and new economies of the seas; 100 IKEA objects we would have liked having at VINÇON; The production of otherness; Inspired in Barcelona: Terra Rossa).

Over the weekend, visitors will also be able to enjoy Constellations, an installation that will illuminate the building's main lobby since December 12. The sculpture is made up of about sixty illuminated balls supported by rods up to 4 meters high and represents a tree of lights that symbolizes the set of design disciplines that coexist within the DHub. The intensity of the building's lights will be lowered at night to highlight this large illuminated sculpture, visible from the Ávila Street façade. Likewise, Constelaciones will have a miniature replica at the entrance to Plaza de las Glòries.
