The event that combines museums and social networks, Museum Week, has surpassed itself this year. The initiative, co-organised by UNESCO, which invites cultural institutions and museums to share their heritage and which has been going for five years, has achieved hundreds of tweets on Twitter. But it’s not just the number that’s important; it’s also the themes and the interactions. Here we present the 7 things we shared with you on Twitter this week.

The stand-out designer this year has been Barcelona's Asunción Bastida, of international renown who specialised in haute couture. We hold her personal archive at the Museu del Disseny, with patterns, sketches and photographs.

In talking about the city and its link with the museum, without doubt Plaça de les Glòries has been our urban companion. Seeing the images and remembering the great changes of 2014 with the new Museu del Disseny, has made a great impression on us.

The ‘author-centred’ arts are our hidden heritage for this year. In particular, artists such as Miró, Picasso and Dalí worked actively with artisans, ceramists, jewellers or enamellers to carry out their works.

The year the new Museu del Disseny was launched was when the programme for families and schools started to take shape. Over the last year, we have already doubled the number of schools that visit our exhibitions, thanks to the work of experts such as Carmina Borbonet.
