A photographic look at Puig i Cadafalch
From 23rd November, Floor B of the Museu del Disseny will host a photographic exhibition of the architectural works of Josep Puig i Cadafalch. Together with the exhibition Adolf Loos - Private Spaces which opens in December, the museum demonstrates its commitment to uncovering Catalan and European architectural heritage.
Curated by Mireia Freixa, the show is organised around the snapshots taken by the photographer Ramon Manent i Rodont (Mataró, 1948), a specialist in artistic and architectural photography, who on this occasion, shows us the most important works of the Catalan architect. The light, space, forms, textures and colours demonstrate his sensitivity and ability to capture the moment.
In this way, the Museu del Disseny joins in the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the birth of Puig i Cadafalch and the centenary of his presidency of the Catalan Commonwealth (the Mancomunitat). Throughout 2017, other activities have looked at the architectural and design aspects of the artist and politician: the decorative arts, the cosmopolitan vision of his projects and work in urban planning.
