What is #quinatipoés?

From the fusion of words in Greek τύπος («knock» or «footprint») and γράφω («write»), typography is the art of designing, composing and printing texts using typefaces. Whether you are a designer or not, we know that among our followers on social networks we have fans of and specialists in the field of typography. This is why we are launching a new participatory initiative on Instagram.

Under the hashtag #quinatipoés (meaning ‘what is the typeface’), every two weeks we will publish a new typeface and challenge you to guess what it is. The prize for the first user who guesses it? A catalogue of the graphic design collection and a pair of tickets to visit one of the next exhibitions of the museum: the temporary exhibition Design Does or the new permanent graphic design exhibition that will open in June.

We’ll be waiting for you on Instagram on 23rd January. Of course, you are welcome to use the What the Font app to automatically recognise the typefaces or get answers to any queries in the well-known typography forums!
