Design for life. 99 projects for the real world presents this a conference with Massoud Hassani, creator of Mine Kafon, the low-cost mine detonator(2011). The conference will be presented in English. 

Born in Afganistan in 1983, Massoud Hassani moved to the Netherlands in 1998 in search of a new life. There, he discovered that there was a profession called "product designer". He enrolled himself to study at the Design Academy of Eindhoven. After having adopted a new way of life and new cultural habits, he focussed his studies on researching the construction of projects with strong influences from both cultures. He graduated in 2011 and now works at his own studio in Eindhove with his brother Mahmud Hassani.

Mine Kafon was acquired by the MoMA in New York. In the media, Massoud Hassani and his project have been praised by media outlets that include CNN, BBC, TEMPS, New York Times, DW, der Spigel, Die Zeit, El Món, Mail Online, The Guardian, Wired, Financial Times, Forbes, Reuters, AFP, P & W, ENS, Colbert Shox, Discovery Channel, SBS6, RTL2, ZDF, and Pro7 among others.
