The Design Museum joins the Homo Faber Guide

The Barcelona Design Museum has joined the Homo Faber Guide project of the Michelangelo Foundation, an international non-profit organization that promotes craftmanship and that is launching today an interactive platform for crafts and design, of which the Design Museum becomes part.

The Homo Faber Guide seeks to bring the world of European craftsmanship within everyone's reach, giving access to the work of master craftspeople, new talents, galleries, museums, manufacturers and workshops from across the continent. The Barcelona Design Museum joins in with the desire to remind people of the creative capacity that we have in our hands, as well as to show the world our local craftsmanship and design.

Through the platform you can discover artisans from all European corners, from the potters of Stockholm to the jewelers of St. Petersburg, passing through the glassblowers of Venice. With the ability to search by countries, cities, people or themes, you can see through the screen how the richness of materials, combined with the infinite human skills, are able to create unique objects.

You will be able to attend virtual guided tours, workshops and courses. Only a click away, also through a mobile app. With this platform, the Design Museum makes a network with 80 more museums, 150 galleries and 650 artisans from 25 European countries, while participating in the creation and implementation of a tool that, for the user, can become a journey through the art, design and crafts of our continent.
