Passengers: BCN
"Data alone is not enough; data needs poetry". Under this premise, Dawes creates a visual essay on the effect of the COVID pandemic on the traffic of passengers travelling through Barcelona airport between 2019 and 2021. Three data-driven 3D printed sculptures fused with digital projections and a soundscape that reflects the airport environment. Through works like this - interactions with the digital and physical realms - we can better understand the effect of all facets of technology on our world.
Brendan Dawes is a UK-based artist and creator who uses generative systems involving data, machine learning and code to create his work. He explores the interaction between objects, people, technology, and art with an eclectic mix of analogue and digital materials.
