Our Collection present in different exhibitions all around the Spanish territory

This autumn and winter, the Museu del Disseny-DHub Collection will be showcased across various temporary exhibitions in Barcelona, Girona, Zaragoza, and Granada.

In Barcelona, the Fundació Privada Vila-Casas will host a retrospective at Espai Volart dedicated to Francesc Domingo Segura from September 17, 2024, to January 19, 2025. Curated by Natàlia Barenys, the exhibition will feature two pieces from our collection: a 1918 earthenware jug and a tile plafond, both crafted by Francesc Domingo at the Fábrica de Hijo de Jaime Pujol i Bausis and Francesc Quer.

At the IDEAL Centre d'Arts Digitals, our collection contributes a man’s suit and a woman’s dress from the early 20th century to the Jules Verne 200 production by Layers of Reality. This exhibition, celebrating the bicentenary of Jules Verne, will run from September 20, 2024, to June 30, 2025.

The Palau Robert is observing the centenary of the first chalet in S'Agaró with the travelling exhibition, "S'Agaró 1924-2024: Architecture and Culture on the Costa Brava." Curated by Jordi Falgàs and Sebastià Roig, it will show first at the Palau Robert until September 29, 2024, then move to the Casa de Cultura in Girona from December 12, 2024, to February 15, 2025. Our museum has lent the "Decálogo del Buen Turista" from the 1st International Tourism Conference in S'Agaró in 1959 and a 1952-53 dress designed by Pedro Rodríguez.

Outside Catalonia, Zaragoza’s IAACC Pablo Serrano will feature a catalogue of contemporary ceramics from 1981 and Maria Dolores Gimeno's "Gent" panel from 1972 in the exhibition "María Dolores Gimeno: Eloquent Matter." This exhibition, curated by Queralt Garriga and María Luisa Grau Tello, runs from September 18 to December 9, 2024, highlighting the current ceramics trend and women creators.

Lastly, the Palace of Charles V in the Alhambra, Granada, will host "La cerámica nazarí. Contextos y proyección" from September 26, 2024, to January 12, 2025. Curated by Jaume Coll and Rafael López Guzmán, this exhibition aims to revise our understanding of Nasrid ceramics and their significance across the Western world. Our museum has provided three terracotta pieces dating from the 11th-12th centuries: a pitcher, an animal figure, and an architectural ornament.
