THE SELECTION

At the heart of the exhibition are the 100 IKEA items chosen by Fernando and Sergi Amat as the ones they would like to have had in their own shop. The selection was made following a trip by Fernando Amat to the IKEA Museum in Älmhult, Sweden, as well as several visits to the IKEA shop in L’Hospitalet with his  nephew and looking through both old catalogues and the current online one. The criteria for choosing the pieces are the same as those used for years by Fernando and Sergi Amat when they would travel to buy items later to be sold at VINÇON. They were guided by aesthetic and functional preferences, as well as price, but above all by instinct, considering what they themselves would like to have in their homes.
