100 IKEA objects we would have liked having at VINÇON
The exhibition highlights the role of these two brands in democratising design, as well as the importance of design for people’s well-being. It also reflects on how concepts such as sustainability and functionality have evolved. The exhibition offers a game of mirrors that contrasts “global” with “local” and tells the story of two entrepreneurs who are similar in some ways and different in others, while establishing a dialogue between Scandinavian and Mediterranean design.
It also invites visitors to reflect on a parallel universe in which the global brand is VINÇON and not IKEA.
The concept, which is based on an original idea by Fernando Amat, the heart and soul of the iconic VINÇON store, was developed by architect Juli Capella, curator of the exhibition.
